In this blog-post I would like to share a basic thought which, I believe, needs to be reverberated often in our walk with God. Even as I thought I was leading a Christ centered life, I came to realize quite lately that I was subconsciously wishing and holding on to a lot of worldly things. It grew up so much in me when these things which were absolutely not my necessities started to bother me. Although I knew this was not the will of God I was tempted to pray for them in my prayer time. Friends, it is absolutely mandatory for us to check our priorities in life and ensuring if they are from God so we don’t let satan get a chance to create his stronghold in our lives.
In Matthew 25: 1-13, we read about the parable of ten virgins, five of them who were ready with the oil for the lamp and the other five who were not. Although it was the desire of all the virgins to meet the groom, only the five had their heart, might and soul on the groom. It is easy to lose our focus in our busy and occupied lives; and the things which started as a mere time pass starts to take the center stage. Social media and keeping up with the Joneses is one of the easiest trap to fall prey into. 1 John 2:16 says, “For everything in the world--the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life--comes not from the Father but from the world.” In the end we know what happened to the five foolish virgins – they were refused entry and the Lord Himself disowned them. Is there a loss which is greater than this? Surely not.
